Vic High Country Ramble
The concept of this trip is to have varying degrees of driving difficulty, to enable members from the most inexperienced to very experienced Off-Road drivers, to participate in driving some of the tracks of the Victorian High Country. Vehicles must have a minimum of all terrain tyres in good condition. We will be base camping at the Dargo River Inn at a cost of $10 per night per person perhaps (costs can vary) for powered site and cabins. Camper Trailers and Caravans welcome. Small convoys will do daily drives to the numerous tracks in the area. Tracks will be grade 3 and 4. Members must have completed three grade 3 trips to drive grade 4. Some of the tracks that will be tackled by more experienced drivers are Chromite, B1, Mt Margaret, Burgoyne Tracks for the lesser experienced will be Billy Goat, Butcher Country, Caledonia, Zeka, Cynthia Spur, Dogs grave, Crooked River and many more. Members do not have to participate every day; some members visit Lakes Entrance for lunch.
Please note: The mountain environment can change at any time so be prepared for hot and possibly cold extreme conditions with potential for rain, snow, high winds and bush fires. Possible early trip closures due to potentially dangerous conditions can occur.
