Towards Batemans Bay
Activity Description:
This trip is now full. I will take reserve nominations in case anyone drops out. Thank you. This trip is on the ACT Family and Community Day Long Weekend. It was originally planned as Backyard Explorer and Blue Waterholes but access to the latter is closed until at least the October Long Weekend (or later based on conditions). That trip will be reprogrammed to early 2017. Saturday – depart from Bungendore and head for lunch at Sully’s Reidsdale (cider talk and tasting), then various forests / NP as time permits to arrive at Yadboro Flat for happy hour and pot luck dinner. Sunday – unplanned day. You can explore on foot or 4WD, climb Pigeonhouse Mountain, dip in the cool waters of the Clyde River or relax at camp. Monday – look around and lunch at Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens, then return to Canberra via Quart Pot, No Name and Misty Mountain fire trails (if open). Camper trailers ok, but Monday’s fire trails have steep climbs and descents. I will try to recce the week-end before so any trailer folk who would like to come along are most welcome. Please bring firewood if you can.
