Tasmania Touring & Camp; Tracks
This trip will be a combination trip of touring and sightseeing in Tasmania and will take in some tracks on the lower West Coast.
The trip members will each need to make their own ferry booking and travel to the Trip Meeting point which is in Launceston. Each vehicle and occupants will make a ferry booking from Melbourne to Tasmania. Ferry costs are approximately $1150 for two people with cabin each way for over height vehicle.
The new dates for the 2024 trip are Trip Start Date = Monday 15th April 2024 (Launceston Caravan Park – details to follow) and are confirmed.
Trip end date (also in Launceston) is Friday 26th April 2024.
Ethan has been in touch with a 4×4 club in Tasmania and we may meet up with them at some point on the trip.
We will be meeting up for a trip planning group meeting (Date to be announced) to plan out an interesting and exciting route and to discuss the trip in more detail.
Fuel and food supplies will be easily available, however if you don’t have long-range fuel tanks (I don’t), you might be advised to carry at least one if not two extra Fuel jerries as sometime Fuel isn’t easy to get. I suggest you fill up with fuel before you get on the Ferry in Melbourne.
Food will be easily obtainable but have enough to get through the first few days. You may need to be self-sufficient with drinking water supplies. More details to follow.
Trip is limited 10 people plus Trip Leader.
Note: Most of the Activity Grade will be grade 2 but there possibly will be some grade 3
