Pine Busters Burrinjuck Nature Reserve
The NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service would like to invite the Southern Tablelands 4WD Club to
volunteer with the Pine Busters program. Volunteers will have the chance to assist with the
conservation of the Endangered Crimson Spider Orchid by removing small pine trees which are
threatening the survival of this rare plant. The weekend of activities will also include a park tour of Burrinjuck Nature Reserve (usually closed to vehicles) with the Ranger
Accommodation will be at the Burrinjuck Waters State Recreation Park. Either camper sites or shared cabin rooms are available. Costs will be covered by NPWS.
What to Bring:
Hat, long-sleeved clothing (including warm and
wet weather gear), covered working shoes, gloves
and tools (if you have them) Meals including lunches to take in the field. NPWS will provide a BBQ dinner on Saturday night.
NPWS Will Provide:
Tools and safety equipment (gloves and hard hats)· Saturday night BBQ dinner
· Cost of accommodation for one night
· Safety briefings, site induction and park tour
Who can participate:
Club members who have registered as NPWS volunteer

The activities will involve walking through the bush, so participants must be fit and healthy.
