OziExplorer & Hema GPS Navigation Workshop
Due to the concerns of the Trip Leader, as a volunteer, they are unwilling to risk their health and those of other trip participants by being in close proximity to unvaccinated participants. The Trip Leader is therefore unable to offer a position on this trip to anyone who has not been fully vaccinated.
The object of this workshop is to introduce members to using OziExplorer, Hema Navigator and Hema 4X4 Explorer mapping software. We will be demonstrating how to plan and navigate routes, Off Road and evaluate tracks already driven.
You will require:
GPS hand held device or a Tablet
The appropriate software license
Laptop (if you have one)
Saturday will be classroom exercises and planning a route through the Brindabellas. (Held at the Canberra Raiders Club Western)
Sunday members will be divided into teams of three and they will drive the pre-planned routes created on Saturday.(Held at the Brindabella national Park)
Members who do not own any GPS devices are welcome to observe and then be able to make a decision on which mapping software they wish to use. (Note these members will not be participating in the Brindabellas on the Sunday)
Note: We will not be demonstrating the Hema HX1 as this unit and supporting software is now obsolete
