Narooma Fishing/Camping Weekend

Narooma Fishing/Camping Weekend

You are required to be double vaccinated to go on the fishing boat, please bring evidence just in case the staff ask for it

The fishing element is already full (due to the previous cancellation). Camping is available for those additional members who would like to nominate.

This is Narooma fishing trip take two. Hopefully the weather conditions will be better this time. however if anyone would like to join in for the social and spend some time on the coast with friends from the club you can book your camping pitches directly with the campground.

This trip is due to commence on Friday 11th March, meet point is our camping location at Dalmeny Campground, 12 Noble Parade, Dalmeny, NSW.

The trip is over the Canberra Day long weekend and the campsite have reserved us 12 camping pitches together for the three nights (11/12/13th). The fishing is on the Saturday and on the Sunday we plan to visit the local area …..visiting Narooma /Tilba winery/Tilba Village/sitting on the beach/ local walks etc etc. The only firm plan for the weekend is the fishing on the Saturday, the rest is totally flexible dependant on what folks would like to do.

Campfires are allowed (unless there’s a fire ban) and must be contained within a fire pit (please bring your own firepit and wood) so we can have a few drinks around the fire on the Friday night and debate just how many fish we will catch (and how big). Pitches are $36 per night for camper trailer or tent (for 2 adults). You can check into the campground from 11am so arrive whenever suits you on the Friday. You can choose to stay for 1/2 or 3 nights.

Saturday starts very early. We will be leaving the campground at 05:00. We have a ten minute drive down to Narooma from the campground and the boat leaves the Town Wharf, Bluewater Dr, Narooma at 05:30.

Our fishing trip lasts 6 hours. Fishing licences and all tackle is included (on a ‘replace if lost’ basis so don’t drop your rod or reel over the side or it will be an expensive fishing trip) and you get to keep all the fish you catch. We will be fishing on ‘Dreamtime’, a 12.5 metre Nustar Catamaran, customised for superb ride, plenty of power and speed. Cost is $150 each to be paid to me upfront.

Saturday night we can fillet, cook and eat some of our catch around the fire and establish who won the catch of the day with a drink .

Monday will be a leisurely day; folks can head back to Canberra when they are ready by road or I will organise an easy grade 2 off-road route back up to the ACT for us to leave in convoy. Check out of the campground is prior to 10am.
