Mount Clear

Mount Clear

I have been given an opportunity from the Landholders for Saturday 27th Feb to take a club trip through the tracks at the back of Bredbo. This will be a full day drive meeting at the coffee shop at Bredbo and ready to go at 9.30am coffee or not. We will then cross the river and head up to Mt clear for lunch, and across to Poveys Hut and maybe another hut in the afternoon. For those that are interested at the end of the day we will also stop at the pub for a meal or quick beverage.
This trip is subject to Rain as the river can rise rapidly therefore being unable to cross, we also need to look after the landholder’s tracks.
Requirements for the day include, full tank of fuel, lunch, blind in case the river is up, recovery gear and a sense of adventure. Depending on track conditions progress may be slow therefore the itinerary may change.
This trip is graded at grade 4 due to the River crossing and Gap Creek track , which on the last trip required maintenance and spotting. Please ensure you read the trip grading on the web site prior to nominating. Due to limited trips available throughout the year to Mount Clear, I will be looking at taking up to 50% of the convoy for members that have not been to Mt Clear previously.
