Lookout for the Lookout – Yalwal to Beecroft (beach time)
Activity Description:
Yalwal Cruise and Beecroft Peninsula for some beach time. Approx 450km round trip – No Camper Trailers. Requirements Basic driver training, basic recovery gear, UHF radio, good tyres, well maintained and reliable vehicle, camping gear including gas stove, food and water. Bowsaw / axe for track clearing. Happy hour supplies too. Fuel full tank at start and bring 1 bag firewood each car. Day 1 Queanbeyan McDonalds 8:15am – leave 8:30am Via Bungendore – Via Tarago – Stop @ Nerriga Hotel Bar for photo with Ned Kelly Tree, off to Bulee Lookout and Morning Tea, off to Tianjara Falls for photos then to George Boyd Lookout (lunch stop) then Jerrawangala Lookout, back up the road to Deans Gap Road on the way in to Yalwal – take a look around and set up camp and relax. Drop toilet and fireplaces are here. Day 2 9-30am depart Yalwal via Bamarang off to a secret spot near the Beecroft Peninsula for Lunch (sit back and relax – feet in the ocean – ahhhhh). Truck on back to Canberra via different way back home with a few other fun detours.
