KHA Horse Camp Hut work-party

Activity Description:

ST4WDC is a member of the The Kosciuszko Huts Association, which is conducting restoration of the Horse Camp Hut, near Guthega. Horse Camp Hut is to get a “makeover” jointly between NWPS and KHA Starting 19th October 2015. The works will continue during week days only, and are expected to take 3-4 weeks. The hut will be completely disassembled and rebuilt with new timbers (floor, walls and ceiling/roof) as required. Parks will allow KHA workparty members vehicle access to the site. We normally gather at the Guthega Power Station near the gate and travel as a group. Members can attend for any period within the above dates i.e. 1 day or whole week etc. We will camp at site so bring the necessary shelter and sleeping items (waterproof tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, cooking utensils, spare clothes, wet weather gear, warm clothing, as it may get cold at night and FOOD and drink for the duration of your stay) Fresh water is available at site. White Cards are not required. Tools to bring would be normal hand tools plus shovel, iron bar, wrecking bar, &c. You MUST bring Personal Protective Equipment, including; Safety boots, long pants, long-sleeve shirt, safety glasses, head protection, work gloves, ear protection (from noise) and sunscreen.
