Canberra in winter? No thanks.
Activity Description:
Seeking Expressions on Interest I propose to escape Canberra this winter and thought I would turn on a trip with heaps of interesting travel and flexibility. The concept is a 3 week road trip. Club members can join for any one, two or all three weeks. So here’s the concept: – Week 1, Depart Broken Hill Monday 20 July for Lake Eyre and anything else interesting on the way. Finish the week in Tibooburra, Friday or Saturday. – Week 2, Depart Tibooburra Monday 27 July for a loop drive to Cameron Corner and anything else interesting before arriving in Bourke on Friday. Side trip to Lightning Ridge possible. – Week 3, Depart Bourke Monday 3 August to do the Darling River Run, arriving in Wentworth Friday. Travellers, make your own way to your desired start town (Broken Hill, Tobooburra or Bourke) and then make your own way home when you have to leave. I haven’t planned details, so am happy to accept suggestions and contributions. Equally, I am happy to be led by anyone with more experience in any of the areas. Therefore the concept may evolve. I would also be grateful for any tips from those who know these areas, but aren’t able to travel. The trip is Grade 3 as worst case. Those that know me, know that I don’t want to be doing recoveries.
