“TRIP LIST NOW FULL. (30 July). IF THERE IS A CANCELLATION THE LIST WILL OPEN AGAIN.”

Due to Covid restrictions ST4WDC cannot guarantee that this activity will occurr

The plan for this trip is to cover a wide range of high country locations and interesting tracks, taking in some great views and overnight campsites. We will be camping in a different location for each night of the trip.

The trip will start in Harrietville on the morning of Sunday the 28th, so allow a day to get there. The planned campsites include the Wonnangatta Valley, the Macalister River campsite at the bottom of the Butcher Country Track, Millers Hut near Mt Wellington, Talbotville, Italian Flat, Lovicks Hut and finally Razorback Hut near Mt Buller on the night of Saturday the 4th of December (allowing for driving home on Sunday the 5th). If the weather cooperates we might get some really good views including from Mt Wellington, The Pinnacles and Blue Rag Trig.

The trip will include extensive low-range 4wding on steep tracks and a number of river crossings. While I am not seeking out especially difficult terrain, this is not a trip for novices or camper-trailers. All vehicles will need to be reliable, well-maintained and equipped with good all-terrain or mud-terrain tyres. Better-than-standard ground clearance will be an advantage. Recovery gear must be carried. A fuel range of 500 km with 30% low range work is required. Water and food for seven days should be carried. Limited supplies should be available at Licola and Dargo.
