Intermediate Driver Training

The Intermediate Driving course is conducted over a single day and introduces participants to more complex tracks and obstacles.  Participants will be required to work as a group to assess terrain and plan the line/track to be driven, including the use of spotters, preparing vehicles for recover, and track building. 

Due to the nature of the course minor vehicle damage and/or tyre damage is possible.

 

Class Room Training:

  • Review of Basic 4WDing principles
  • More advanced driving principles
  • More complex terrain assessment
  • Planning for if/when thing go wrong

Practical Training:

  • Review of wheel placement
  • Review of vehicle stall and recovery techniques
  • More advanced Track Assessment and line picking
  • Using a spotter
  • Driving more technical tracks
  • Planning for if/when things go wrong

To attend this course you must:

  • be a current/financial club member
  • not be in the first year of membership
  • have completed Basic Driver Training
  • have completed at least 3 Grade 3 or above trips

Prior completion of the Basic Winching and Recovery Course would be beneficial.
