Out and about in Bungendore and Braidwood
You’ve no doubt heard that people are staying away from fire affected areas, including country towns that rely on visitors especially in the summer months. The intent of this trip is to visit Bungendore and Braidwood and support their local businesses. Come with empty stomachs, shopping list for country fare and money to spend. Please wear club clothing of some sort, and talk with the locals and ask what help groups of people like us and our club could do to help.
We’ll gather at Bungendore’s Mick Sherd Oval carpark (opp the Post Office) on Gibraltar Street at 10am. Consider arriving in Bungendore early enough to have breakfast from one of their foody places beforehand. We’ll then head for Braidwood for more eats and drinks, foods, handicrafts, curios etc. If you’ve been waiting to buy something special, or would like to start your Christmas shopping early, here is your opportunity. There’s no particular plan for this – just spread out and support the town’s businesses, talk to the locals, and ask them what support is still needed. Gather the ideas and let’s then see how individuals, groups or the club can help.
If you have energy, time and money, there is always Bungendore’s shops on the way home as well.
This is not a 4WD trip, so town cars welcome, but please bring a hand-held for staying in the loop while traveling together – Channel 14.
