Mungo, Menindee, Murray and more…
Activity Description:
This is a 2 week trip checking out a number of National Parks in western NSW and Victoria. The format is base camping for 3-4 nights before moving to the next location – rest, explore, move. Camper trailers welcome, as we will do the more challenging stuff on the day trips. We meet to set up camp first in Kinchega NP, then move south to Mungo NP, Murray-Sunset NP, and Wyperfeld NP and also check out Hattah-Kulkyne and possibly Little Desert NPs. Expect interesting 4WDing, including sand dunes (eg The Border Track), opportunity to explore, bushwalk, rest, chat, etc. There will be lakes (wet and dry), prolific birdlife, a variety of flora and fauna, reptiles, beautiful blue skies and magnificent sunrises and sunsets. Special features include Mungo Man and Woman, Walls of China, ancient mega-fauna, Pink Lakes, and interesting 4wding! While the trip is Grade 2, some sand driving may be challenging. Basic course highly desirable. Sand course beneficial. We will camp mainly near towns, but some of the driving will be remote and vehicles must be suitably prepared. Travel to/from in convoy or by your own arrangements.
