Give Coffs a Crack

Give Coffs a Crack

If you like hard wheeling, Coffs Harbour is considered the mecca.

This weekend will be for tough wheeling, and is not for the faint hearted.

If you’re looking for what tracks we’ll do, Morbid is about the only given because it’s one of the easier tracks in the area because you can actually turn around on it and go down if things like the weather halt progress. Other tracks will really be down to the weather on the day, because trails go from walk in the park (i.e maybe a winch) to impassable clay with some rain in Coffs (but looking up morbid, jeep and commando on YouTube will give you an idea). Full disclosure, while I support panel damage, there will be no Widowmaker on a trip I lead…

Cars must have a working winch unless you have seriously big tyres with lockers. Acceptance on this trip is at the discretion of the trip leader.

Depending on who joins and their camping setups, there are either some beautiful clifftop free camps or very accessible hipcamps nearby, and the decision will be made in consultation with participants.

Saturday and Tuesday will be travel days, with Sunday and Monday as wheeling days, to make the most of tracks being quiet when the ACT has a public holiday and NSW doesn’t. If you can’t get the extra day off and want to only come for the Sunday wheeling (i.e. 3 day trip instead of 4) then please feel free.

We’ll meet in Coffs on the Saturday afternoon.
