Consolidated Safe One Basic Driver Training At Talooge Park

The course is in three parts:

  1. Vehicle Inspection  – The vehicle inspection ensures you and your vehicle are ready to undertake the course.  These inspections are undertaken three weeks before the course.  Look out for dates and times on the ST4WDC website and nominate separately for this part of the course.
  2. Pre-Night –  The Pre-night is held in Canberra on the Wednesday evening before the training weekend commencing at 19:00 (7pm).  Details of the venue will be forwarded to participants via email as this may be subject to change. ATTENDANCE AT THIS THEORY COURSE IS MANDATORY PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE WEEKEND DRIVING COMPONENT.
  3. Weekend Course at Talooge –  This is the main course held at the club property ‘Talooge Park’.

What to Bring for the weekend at Talooge Park: 1: Yourself & family and a 4WD in good mechanical condition 2: Camping gear for 2 nights stay 3: Food (including happy hour stuff) and clothing for 2 days. 4: Chairs to sit on around the fire 5: Recovery gear, as per hand out given at pre meeting 6: Garbage bags for all your rubbish to take home 7: Notebook & pen 8: Camera 9: Full tank of fuel 10: Torch 11: Drinking water. There is a large First Aid Kit at Talooge and a gas BBQ,S. For more specific details about the course including participant instructions please contact Bron Squire at the club meetings. The club provides two levels of membership

full member           family member

To be a Full Member you must own a suitable four wheel drive vehicle and hold a driver's licence. Basic Driver Training is provided only to the Full Members. Partners and family members of the Full Member are categorised as Family Members and may undertake Basic Driver training by becoming full members but pay only the annual membership fee component (not the joining fee) and may revert to family membership after 12 months. Details of all membership entitlements are provided at Section 3 (1) of the club by-laws.
