Brogo Wilderness (While we still can)
Activity Description:
This trip takes us from Cooma through to the Tuross River crossing private property and onto the Kybeyan Fire Trail, Razorback FT down to the Brogo Valley, from here we will return back through the relatively easy Wadbilliga trail doing a complete loop. Starting from Bredbo at 9.00am sharp and for those that want to shorten the trip can end at Talooge to camp the night, which is where I will end the trip. This trip goes through diverse terrain, a medium-difficulty route takes us through some wild country with incredible mountain views. Traversing a wide range of environments, including coastal forest foothills, high river valley catchment plus rainforest and heathlands, adjoining the Brogo Wilderness. The terrain is mixed with a crossing of the Tuross river, tight rocky switch backs to some pleasant driving through the Wadbilliga National Park. The Razorback Trail descends from 1500 metres to 700 metres through some tight steep rocky switchbacks. (Vehicles require good brakes/handbrakes) This trip is graded as a harder grade three trip due to the unknown condition of the Razorback trail which can only be reached through private property. The Tuross River though not very wide can be quite deep and if National Parks have not cleared the road a number of fallen tree will need to be cleared.
