Accredited Chainsaw Training

The plan is for everyone to meet at Uriarra Homestead – Corner of Brindabella Road and Uriarra Road, Uriarra at TBA.

The property is fairly difficult to find so the idea is to go in via convoy on the Friday evening and start around 9.00am on the Saturday morning.

Participants will need to drive a low range 4WD – as the driveway to the property can get a bit slippery in the wet and is steep.

The property name is Ulmurra. Facilities available – gas BBQ, pizza oven, fire pit (weather permitting), pit toilet, bush shower.

Through the NSW/ACT 4WD Association, NPWS is subsidising accredited chainsaw training. 2 Day courses that normally cost $580 will cost $300.
The course will be run by GetAbout and will only available to registered club members who have also registered on the NPWS Volunteer website.
At the moment there are only 100 places available state-wide, and there is a course scheduled for our region with a limited number of 12 places.
You will be responsible for payment of the $300 contribution and must have all your own PPE and chainsaw (or access to these), and have registered as a volunteer on the NP website.

This accreditation will then allow us to use chainsaws within National Parks to assist clearing tracks (Worth Having)
If you are interested please subscribe on the website and email me at glen.jane@iinet.net.au for additional information and forms to be signed.
