This trip is offered as an extension to ST4WDC members coming to Mount Lofty Rangers’ Big Desert 26 trip (see separate listing) who would like to make the most of their journey by extending for about a week. You can also nominate if you aren’t coming to Big Desert 26 – I suggest planning to arrive Sunday 26 July afternoon/evening (900kms from Canberra). If the Surveyor Generals Corner or Simpson Desert trips are beyond your reach this year, consider this trip and Big Desert 26 to get your outback/desert fix. There is no firm plan at this stage. I am seeking expressions of interest to gauge numbers and what people are interested in. The Victorian desert parks comprise Big Desert, Wyperfeld, Little Desert and Murray Sunset. Just across the border in SA (where we live) is Ngarkat. Of course there are also interesting towns in the area. About 6 weeks before, we’ll have a teleconference and firm up the plans at one month from start. I will also offer this trip as an extension for Mount Lofty Rangers 4WDC members, so will juggle vehicle numbers to be no more than 10 (nominally 5 per club, but flexible). I’ll take vehicles in order of nomination and keep a wait list in case of cancellations.
