Trip leaders are amongst this club’s most valuable resources and this workshop is an opportunity for club members to attain the skills required to become Trip Leaders. The basis of this workshop will involve round table classroom theory. The topics that will be covered are: Planning a trip, Trip grading, Expectations of a trip leader, Expectations of a club member, Role of a trip leader, managing difficult people, managing the trip, National Parks, Risk assessment, Convoy integrity, Communications, Vehicle recovery scenarios. Certificates will only be awarded after the student has been involved in leading three activities. Due to the concerns of the Trip Leader, as a volunteer, they are unwilling to risk their health and those of other trip participants by being in close proximity to unvaccinated participants. The Trip Leader is therefore unable to offer a position on this trip to anyone who has not been fully vaccinated.
