Your vehicle and recovery gear must have been evaluated by an instructor before participation in this course. Please nominate for a Vehicle and Recovery Equipment Evaluation (under “Events” on our website). Please commit to this course if you nominate, we endeavour to match you one-on-one with an instructor. Instructors volunteer their time to provide our quality training and respecting this would be appreciated. The course is in two parts: Pre-Night – The Pre-night is held in Canberra on Wednesday 30 April, commencing at 19:00 (7pm), at Weston Raider’s Club, 1 Liardet Street, Weston. Attendance at this theory session is mandatory prior to attending the driving component. Weekend Course – Commencing Friday morning. This is the main driving course consisting of theory and practical driving sessions. What to Bring for the weekend: 1: Yourself & family and a 4WD in good mechanical condition 2: Camping gear for 2 nights stay 3: Food (including happy hour snacks) and clothing for 2 days. 4: Chairs to sit on around the fire 5: Recovery gear, as per hand out given at vehicle inspection or pre-meeting 6: Garbage bags for all your rubbish to take home 7: Notebook & pen 8: Camera 9: Full tank of fuel 10: Torch 11: Drinking water 12 Your vehicle’s manual (if you have it). There is a large First Aid Kit at Talooge and a gas BBQ.
