Licolarama is a one week excursion to the Victorian High Country that, if successful may become an annual event. Modelled after Michael’s long running and popular VHC Ramble, but based out of Licola instead of Dargo to provide access to the tracks on the western side of the VHC. This trip is scheduled the week immediately following the VHC Ramble so that members wishing to do both can drive directly to Licola from Dargo (about 2hr 20min drive). Day trip tracks are being developed but draft version is; Mon – Butcher Country/Black Soil Gully Tue – Burgoyne West/Cobs Spur (if there are too many cars we will run a convoy on each track then swap for day 2) Wed – Lay day Then for Thur/Fri there are two options (choose which group to join)… Group 1 will head to Wonnangatta Valley for an overnight camp. Then on Friday leaving the valley via Mt Sarah onto Selwyn Ck Rd, Beveridges Station and along the Buckland River to finish at Porepunkah (4-5 hr drive from Canberra). This group will have the option to include an extra camp Friday night at Beveridges Station (or one of the campgrounds along the Buckland) for a more relaxed journey home. Group 2 (for those that brought vans/trailers or don’t want to do the Wonnangatta trip) Thur – B1/Chromite/Mt Margaret/Burgoyne East Fri – Caledonia River/Dingo Hill Sat – Depart Licola Depending on numbers and other relevant factors one option may be eliminated. DEPENDENCIES/CONDITIONS: The trip will likely go ahead rain or shine except in the case of extreme weather event, bushfire, pandemic, etc. Day trips may be cancelled or rerouted at short notice. SUITABLE FOR TRAILERS: Caravans and campers welcome but not suitable for the tracks (including Wonnangatta) DISTANCE: Licola is approx 600km/7hr drive from Canberra via Cann River and Bairnsdale. If coming from Dargo it’s 2hrs 20mins. DOGS: Allowed in caravan park but not on day trips into National Parks (all except Burgoyne/Cobb)
